Already registered, or a private import? We engineer GVM upgrades for the 6.7L Cummins RAM 2500 right here in Queensland, taking it up to its factory axle ratings. That's up to 5,460 kg on the 5th gen and 5,320 kg on the 6th gen, more than doubling the factory payload.
Every package takes the truck to its axle limit: 5,460 kg on the 5th gen, 5,320 kg on the 6th gen. The step up is in the suspension, ride and lift.
Suits: 6.7L Cummins RAM 2500, 5th gen and 6th gen, including registered trucks and private imports. The 6.4L HEMI Warlock is enquiry only. Upgrades over 4,500 kg move the truck to NB2, which needs an LR licence.

Good to know before you book
Wheels and tyres
The factory wheels are rated to 1,587 kg each. Lifts of 2 to 3 inches with tyres up to 35 inch can go on the QLD modification plate as part of the same engineering.
If you change wheels or tyres, they need to carry the new axle loads. We'll quote load-rated options on the same job.
5th gen or 6th gen?
Both can be upgraded to their factory axle ratings. On the 5th gen that's 5,460 kg, for up to 1,851 kg of payload (1,793 kg with RamBox). The 6th gen High Output has lower front axle ratings, so it goes to 5,320 kg, for up to 1,610 kg of payload (1,540 kg with RamBox).
GCM and 4,500 kg braked towing stay at the factory figures on both.
Add a long range tank
Fitting a long range fuel tank at the same time? It goes on the same engineering, with no extra engineering fee.
Why we stop at the axle ratings
There are kits on the market that go higher, but the 2500's rear coil springs aren't the right base for it. If you need more, a leaf-sprung truck like a RAM 3500 or Silverado 2500HD is the better starting point, and we can help with that too.
6.4L HEMI Warlock?
These packages are for the 6.7L Cummins. If you've got a 2500 Warlock with the 6.4L HEMI, get in touch and we'll look at what's possible for your truck.
Going over 4,500 kg? Your truck moves from NB1 to NB2 and the driver needs a light rigid (LR) licence. Tell your insurer, and check how it affects your rego. We'll talk it through with you before any work starts.
How a GVM upgrade works with us
One workshop handles the whole job: the kit, the wheels and tyres it needs, the fit and the paperwork.
1
Plan the build
We look at how you load and use the vehicle: people, fuel, water, drawers, canopy, roof gear and towball weight. If you're not sure where you sit, pop in or give us a call and we'll walk you through it.
2
Pick the package
We match the kit to the job and quote the load-rated wheels and tyres it needs at the same time, so there are no surprises.
3
Fit and certify
Fitted in our Brendale workshop with the supplier's engineering. Most fits take 2 to 3 days. Chassis extensions take longer.
4
Drive away sorted
You leave with the certification paperwork and an alignment set for the new ride height and load.
RAM 2500 GVM upgrade FAQs
Is this legal?
Yes. It's an engineered modification done after registration. The truck is inspected, the upgrade is designed around its axle, tyre and component ratings, and it's certified by an independent Queensland approved person (engineer). You get a modification certificate and an updated plate.
Do I need a different licence?
Over 4,500 kg GVM, yes. The truck moves from NB1 to NB2, and the driver needs a light rigid (LR) licence. A car licence covers up to 4,500 kg.
Does it change my towing capacity?
No. GCM and braked towing stay at the factory figures: 4,500 kg braked towing, with a GCM of 12,695 kg on the 5th gen and 12,750 kg on the 6th gen. The upgrade gives you payload headroom, so you can load the truck properly.
What about rego and insurance?
Moving to NB2 can change your rego class and cost. Let your insurer know about the upgrade and keep the certificate with the truck. We'll go through it with you before any work starts.
Does it suit the 6.4L HEMI Warlock?
Not these packages. They're for the 6.7L Cummins. Warlock owners can still get in touch and we'll look at what's possible.
Can you go higher than the axle ratings?
We don't recommend it on a RAM 2500. Its rear coil springs aren't designed for more. For heavier loads, a leaf-sprung RAM 3500 or Silverado 2500HD is the better base.
Do you do private imports?
Yes. Because we engineer the upgrade after registration, we can do registered RAM 2500s, including private imports.
Tell us whether it's a 5th or 6th gen, how it's set up, what you carry and what you tow. We'll recommend the right package and quote it with wheels and tyres to suit.
